✓ Countable Noun; The nouns can be numbered as singular or plural or can be counted and are called countable nouns.

✓ Uncountable Noun; That noun which could not be numbered as singular or plural or could not be counted are called uncountable nouns.

For Example; Water, cement, air, milk, etc.

Uncountable noun could be divided into further two types;

  •  Concrete Noun 
  • Abstract Noun

The nouns which represent any material or can be encountered by any of the five senses are called concur nouns.The nouns which show our feelings, emotions, state, thoughts, ideas, concepts, etc, are called abstract nouns.

2. Proper Noun

“The name of any specific person, place, or thing is called a proper noun.”

For Example,

Shazia, Lahore, Qasim, etc.

3. Collective Noun

“The noun that represents a group of things, persons, etc. Is Called collective nouns “

For Example,

Army, a swarm of flies, a bunch of keys, police, etc.

4. Material Noun

” The nouns which show the material which is used to make different things. Are called material nouns.”

For Example 

Iron, gold, copper, etc.

5. Compound Noun

“The nouns consist of multi-words and are called compound nouns.”

For example, 

Sister-in-law, swimming pool, etc.
